Here are my plans as your Councillor during the next term of Council for:

City-Wide / Ward-Wide Plans
  • Building off my motion on A.I. Data Centres, ensure that the policy proposed in response to the motion, that they do not impact on the availability of electricity and water and other city resources for housing and other growth in the city, and do not increase the cost of these for residents.

  • Organize coordinated neighbourhood garage sale days across Ward 12 to bring neighbours together and encourage reuse.

  • Create an urban caucus at City Hall so Ottawa's dense urban neighbourhoods have a stronger, coordinated voice on garbage, homelessness, traffic, infrastructure, public space and social services.

  • Work with provincial representatives and City staff on longstanding encroachment issues related to infill construction to develop practical solutions for affected residents.

  • Make the Problematic Properties Pilot permanent, targeting those properties that repeatedly and continually are not kept up to the maintenance and cleanliness requirements outlined in the Property Standards bylaw, and seeking authority from the Province to increase the fines available to encourage compliance with the bylaw.

  • Expand the needle hunter program so more neighbourhoods have dedicated resources to quickly identify and remove discarded needles and drug-related waste and expand their mandate to include litter collection.

  • Keep more of the money generated downtown, in downtown. Push for a greater share of revenues generated in the urban core, including property taxes, payments in lieu of taxes, parking revenue and fines, and tourism-related revenues such as the Municipal Accommodation Tax, to be reinvested in downtown communities. Further use this downtown reinvestment for cleaner streets, parks and public spaces, infrastructure, community facilities, events, economic development and services that keep the core safe and welcoming.

  • Work with the community and other levels of government to establish a midwifery school at the University Of Ottawa.

  • Grow the Tournoi des Deux Rives, bringing together francophone student athletes from Ottawa and Gatineau, beginning with basketball and expanding to additional sports.

  • Work with the community to develop Ottawa’s first “navigable water route park” with appropriate signage and mapping of safe routes for canoes, kayaks and paddle boards, linking all of the new and future docks and water access points, on the Rideau River, such as the new one at Dutchies Hole, and the one being rebuilt at the western foot of St. Patrick’s bridge.

Housing and Homelessness Plans
  • Continue moving away from reliance on large emergency shelters and toward permanent, supportive and transitional housing. Shelters are an emergency response; housing is the long-term solution.
  • No more shelters in ward 12
  • Move to a model of intensive housing as outlined in my joint editorial in iPolitics to provide the right type of housing with wrap around services for and people with cognitive decline due to drug overdose and mental health issues.
  • Advocate for more acquisitions of rental properties with non-profits to conserve existing low-cost rental as we did with the Brant Street Apartments and the Ottawa Land Trust
  • Advocate for more public housing like what we are doing with OCH on Beausoleil Drive with 153 new senior units and 34 units on Somerset Street for supportive housing
Transit
  • Following up on successfully creating lanes for buses only during peak times on Rideau St and Montreal Road in the ward, I will work to establish bus lanes on peak times throughout the downtown, as most of the bus routes in Ward 12 start or end outside of the ward.
  • I support a $95 a month transit pass
  • I support continuation of the free youth transit pass during the summer months.
Lowertown
  • Continue supporting the transformation of Shepherds of Good Hope from traditional shelter infrastructure toward permanent supportive housing.
  • Continue advocating for the sixth interprovincial crossing and a direct route for interprovincial truck traffic, reducing pressure on downtown neighbourhood streets.
  • Continue working to expand access to francophone childcare in and around Lowertown and the ByWard Market.
  • Implement traffic calming measures at the corner of Cathcart Street and Dalhousie Street to improve safety for pedestrians, cyclists and residents.
Vanier
  • Consult residents on the new Vanier recreation centre and ensure the community helps shape its facilities, programming and services.
  • Build upon the Vanier 5K by exploring the addition of a 10K race and establishing a community based non-profit to support its long term future.
  • Work toward new School Street initiatives at Assumption and Horizon-Jeunesse.
  • Continue supporting the Vanier Co-operative Childcare Centre and the availability of affordable childcare spaces for Vanier families.
  • Seek improvements to Riverian Park that strengthen recreation and access to the Rideau River while protecting its natural setting.
  • Vanier needs both affordable veterinary care and food assistance so residents can keep and care for their pets. I continue to support keeping the animal food bank alongside the new veterinary clinic and will help the Ottawa Humane Society fundraise for its new Community Veterinary Clinic / animal welfare hub in Vanier.
  • Continue supporting the transformation of the Salvation Army site at 333 Montréal Road away from large institutional shelter proposals and toward permanent and transitional housing.
Sandy Hill
  • Continue leading the coordination among residents, students, universities, police, City services and community partners to eliminate the chaos associated with the Panda University Football Game between Carleton University and the University of Ottawa.
  • Continue supporting the sixth interprovincial crossing as a more direct route for interprovincial traffic and heavy trucks with the aim of diverting truck traffic from the downtown core.
  • Open Nelson Street to improve neighbourhood connectivity and access.
  • Develop a stronger approach to protecting and celebrating Sandy Hill's architectural and cultural heritage while allowing thoughtful renewal and housing.
  • Seek improvements to Strathcona Park that strengthens recreation opportunities and access to the Rideau River while protecting its natural setting.
  • Develop targeted solutions for recurring garbage problems, particularly during university student move-in and move-out periods, with the aim to create better coordination between landlords, universities and City services.
  • Work with uOttawa and Carleton Universities to make a girls'/women's flag football matchup part of future Panda Game celebrations.
ByWard Market
  • Following up on my motion to improve the Byward Market revitalization to ensure 24 hour access to public washrooms, road bollards to create more pedestrianized spaces on demand, and a francophone daycare.
  • Work with restaurants, businesses, producers and community partners to bring more regular public markets, food vendors and local producers back to the ByWard Market: bring the market back to the Market.
  • Build on the success of the 2026 FIFA Final celebrations and Nuit Blanche by investing in more events that bring people together and draw residents and visitors downtown and use the market more as a public celebration space.
  • Advocate for better use of streets and public spaces through festivals, public screenings, cultural programming, markets, patios and temporary pedestrianized streets.
  • Continue working toward federal heritage recognition for the ByWard Market and incorporate its history into planning for its future.
  • Work to eliminate patio fees for restaurants in the Market and City wide.
